Born in Rome, Antonio Sabato Jr. and
his family (including his father, Italian film actor Antonio Sabato,
Sr.) moved to L.A. when he was 12. After graduating from Beverly Hills
High School, he got an agent and his first gigs: modeling jobs and a
role in Janet Jackson's music video for "Love Will Never Do (Without
You)." The actor also had a few Italian films under his belt by age 20,
when GENERAL HOSPITAL hired him for his breakthrough role as teen
heartthrob Jagger. When he left the show two years later, he appeared on
MELROSE PLACE, then got worldwide exposure — in his skivvies — in ads
for Calvin Klein underwear, pretty much becoming a household name.
Sabato has spent the last decade steadily working in prime-time, film
and TV movies, but finally returned to the stability of soaps so that he
could devote plenty of time to his children. The actor lives in Thousand
Oaks, CA, with Kristin Rosetti (mother of his daughter), just a few
houses down from his ex (and mother of his son) Virginia Madsen.
Quotes by Antonio:
"There was one time when a girl told me that I was
'gorgeous.' I didn't know what it meant. So I got mad and said, 'What
are you talking about?' And she just kept saying this word — gorgeous,
gorgeous, gorgeous. I went home and asked my parents what it meant, and
they told me. So I went back to school and said, 'Well, thanks.' "

"Everybody's done a daytime soap, from Demi Moore
to you name it, but they were always ashamed. I was always the one who
talked about it and was proud of the stuff I did. If you're not, don't
do it!" -- Soap
Opera Digest
"I know it may sound strange to other people, but
Virginia and I are very good friends. And why shouldn't we be? We're not
romantically involved, but our first priority is our son and we care
about bringing him up in a peaceful environment."
